This carefully designed extension and renovation reflect a carefully considered design approach that draws on Hamptons influences while respecting and reinterpreting the contemporary Federation character of Willoughby’s established heritage streetscapes.

Commissioned to enhance both functionality and architectural presence, the project focused on retaining the charm of the original dwelling while introducing a refined, light-filled extension and additional level, tailored to modern living. The design balances traditional detailing with contemporary spatial planning, resulting in a cohesive and timeless outcome.

A sense of luxury is established from the moment of arrival, where expansive windows and intricately detailed tiled flooring create a refined and welcoming entry sequence. This leads effortlessly into expansive open-plan living and dining areas designed for both everyday comfort and elevated entertaining.

The rear extension has been thoughtfully designed to maximize natural light, spatial flow, and connection to the outdoors. With large arched windows, opening to the landscaped garden. The kitchen, as a central hub, features shaker-style joinery, curated material sections, and a highly functional layout tailored to the client’s lifestyle, and reflecting the heritage charm indoors.

Materiality, detailing, and proportion have been carefully resolved to create a seamless transition between old and new.  

Our integrated design and delivery approach ensured consistency across all stages of the project, from initial concept and heritage-sensitive planning, through to detailed documentation and construction.
